Hi, I'm Lauren, the reader behind PageCue.
My love affair with books started young, with The Babysitters Club, then Sweet Valley High, the kind of series that taught an entire generation of girls to read under the covers with a flashlight. In my twenties, I devoured everything Sophie Kinsella and Jane Green ever wrote. Twenties Girl is still one of my all-time favorites, the kind of book I'll recommend to anyone who asks.
But it was 2012 that really changed my relationship with reading. I had open-heart surgery that year, and during the long recovery, I read more than I ever had in my life, book after book, faster than I could keep up with myself. I fell completely into romance during that time, and I've never really left. (And yes, when 50 Shades came out, I blew through the whole series in two days, just like every other mom I knew.)
Over the years my taste has shifted and sharpened. Favorite authors come and go, new tropes catch my eye, old comfort reads still get revisited. What hasn't changed is the feeling of finding exactly the right book at exactly the right moment.
These days I'm not the only reader in the house. My 17-year-old daughter caught the bug too, and we now have reading parties together at least once a week, two generations, side by side, completely absorbed in our own books.
PageCue exists because I know what it feels like to need the right book and not know where to find it. I built this so no one else has to spend twenty minutes scrolling when they could be twenty pages in.
